A Feast for the Ears at the Opera House – Tony Maccaroni Cooks Up the Most Beautiful Opera Arias

A musical opera cooking show for the whole family, an entertaining afternoon not just for kids! Featuring lively arias by W.A. Mozart, G. Donizetti, Johann Strauss, and others. Created by and starring audience favorite Andy Hallwaxx as Chef „Tony Makkaroni“. Come, laugh, meet Tony Basil and his Spaghetti Connection, and experience a musically cheerful operatic afternoon!

There hasn't been much to laugh about for any of us lately due to Covid-19. Intendant Michael Garschall and Managing Director Franz Brenner agree that cultural cheerleading efforts are all the more important. For this reason, and thanks to the general easing of restrictions, a special new production for children and families can fortunately be scheduled with two dates at the end of August in the Babenbergerhalle.

Laughter, merriment, participation, and tons of fun are at the heart of it all when the famous chef Tony Macaroni cooks his magic soup, based on Grandma's secret recipe, in his Italian restaurant. This soup is said to bestow a particularly beautiful singing voice upon any opera singer who consumes it. Of course, word has gotten around, and all the opera stars flock to Tony's restaurant. They pay exorbitant amounts of money just to be able to eat this miraculous soup. However, Tony also has a kitchen fairy who intentionally oversalts the soup. Absolute chaos ensues. Tony is at his wit's end. Only the children in the audience can help him...

Of course, adhering to the strictest corona protection measures: own audience entry and exit regulations, maintaining minimum distance in the auditorium, staggered seating taking into account the one-meter safety distance between individual family groups, special room ventilation, and much more.
