Season tickets for the Klosterneuburg lido

As of tomorrow, season tickets will also be available for the Klosterneuburg bathing resort., which is intended to benefit young people in particular

Starting tomorrow, June 27th, season passes will also be issued at the Klosterneuburg lido - initially limited to 500. They are intended to provide affordable summer leisure fun, especially for young people. The reason for this is the easing of restrictions, particularly the lifting of the ten-square-meter rule. The boat rental service is also available again.

The sale of a few hundred season tickets at the Klosterneuburg lido is now possible due to the relaxed COVID-19 recommendations for swimming pool operations by the Federal Ministry of Health as of June 17th. With the removal of the ten-square-meter-per-person rule, the daily capacity of bathers, currently a maximum of 2,000, can be increased to 2,500 for now. Boat rentals are also possible again.

Thus, it has been decided to issue 500 season tickets starting tomorrow. 300 of these will be given to Klosterneuburg youth. The city is thus creating the opportunity to use the pool and the diverse possibilities it offers for little money. A season ticket costs €62 for adults, €34 for children and young people up to 18 years old, €40 for students and civil servants, and €47 for pensioners and people with disabilities. Incidentally, jCard holders receive a day ticket for only €2.50 every Friday. The youth ticket „jCard“ is available at the town hall's cultural office.

The hygiene measures and distancing regulations remain in place. This means limited access to the pools and maintaining one meter of distance outside of the water, on the sunbathing lawn, and indoors. Wearing a mask is no longer generally required, but is still recommended for the restrooms, as the one-meter distance cannot always be maintained there.

The chief lifeguard of the day is responsible for deciding how many day visitors can be admitted – depending on the actual utilization of the area, taking into account hygiene regulations. In parallel with further developments surrounding Covid-19 and the directives of the federal government, the Klosterneuburg lido will also be gradually relaxed. The situation is continuously re-evaluated by the city's bathing administration.

„A season like we've never had before, and one that will surely present us with challenges,“ says Ing. Andreas Fuchshuber, Head of Bath Management. „Especially since the summer hasn't really started yet, not since we opened on May 29th. However, we still hope for a successful, but above all, healthy and safe season in 2020.“ The municipal council is pleased about any leeway that arises to ensure maximum swimming and recreational fun for the population again this year.

Thanks to relaxed regulations and high flexibility, a gradual return to normal operations should be achieved – and thus the Klosterneuburg lido should not go under.

General basic rules at a glance:

  • Maintain 1 meter distance when queuing at the lido ticket counter. Signage and markings regulate the waiting area in front of the counter – longer waiting times may occur!
  • 90 people in the pool facilities (sports pool + adventure pool combined)
  • Maintain 1 meter distance, also between loungers or people on the lawn (except for family members).
  • 1-2 Meter distance in water
  • 3-4 meters distance in the old altar body of water
  • Follow hygiene recommendations – wash hands, cough etiquette, no handshakes
