The Medieval Festival is postponed

The development of the pandemic, the again rising numbers, and the special nature of the location – in the heart of the city, on thestift precinct with all its complexity – have now, with heavy hearts, led the organizers to postpone the two-day medieval festival indefinitely as a precaution. It was planned for September 25th and 26th, 2021.

After thorough deliberation, the organizational staff has decided to postpone. In recent weeks, the situation assessment and trends with rising incidence numbers have been continuously monitored and evaluated. The pandemic situation does not permit the festival in this complexity and due to the special characteristics of the terrain, according to the reasoning.

The two-day medieval festival is located in the heart of the city, on the grounds of the Klosterneuburg Monastery. This serves multifunctional purposes, from a house of worship to a tourist destination. There would be overlaps in visitor traffic here, which were now considered too risky against the backdrop of the current Covid-19 situation. Last but not least, children and young people, as a significant target group of the medieval festival, are to be particularly protected. A new date will be announced as soon as it is set.
