Experience Klosterneuburg in a whole new way! The Audioguide for the History Trail is now also available in English!
The famous voice-over artist from radio and television, Stuart Freeman, breathes international spirit into the Histo(h)rienpfad – now not only German-speaking interested parties can delve into our city's history and explore the secrets of the Upper and Lower Town multilingually!
Last May, the Histo(h)rienpfad was redeveloped and presented with the help of the Hearonymus app for the residents of Klosterneuburg and visitors to the city, now featuring Werner Brix as the narrator in a modern and humorous style.
On two different routes – the Upper Town and the Lower Town, with a total of 37 stops, you can learn all sorts of interesting facts about house signs, old crafts, the origin of street names, special historical events right at the location where they happened, and much more, experiencing Klosterneuburg in a completely new and lively way.
Along both paths, there are many opportunities to visit the Klosterneuburg gastronomy, taste Klosterneuburg wine, and explore local shops and producers, and to fortify yourself appropriately for the rest of your journey.
The new app is available for free download via a QR code on each of the signs at the stations. You just need to take a picture of the code with your smartphone, and it will take you directly to the audio guides!
With Stuart Freeman, the time during lockdown was now used to get the Histo(h)rienpfad ready for the summer and the city's visitors. With his wit and linguistic finesse, it's a pleasure to listen to his explanations – not just native speakers will enjoy it.
The new English-language history (story) path is also a great tip for pupils and English learners who want to improve, refresh, or keep their skills from fading, spiced up and enlivened with local flavor and history, before falling asleep!
