Girls‘ Day Klosterneuburg 2026

On April 23rd, 2026, it was once again „Girls, step forward“ for „Girls“ Day" at the Klosterneuburg branch of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce.

At the initiative of the Klosterneuburg branch of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce and Deputy Mayor Dr. Maria T. Eder, Mag. Friedrich Oelschlägel, head of the Klosterneuburg branch, organized this day specifically for girls who can sustainably improve their future by entering professions that are not typically considered female.

After the welcome by Friedrich Oelschlägel, Deputy Mayor for Women, Families, and Education, Dr. Maria Theresia Eder clearly emphasized: „Career choice is one of the most important decisions in life! Especially in today's difficult economic situation, apprenticeships are an indispensable, crisis-proof form of training! Today, all opportunities are open to women as well. Courage and joy in new things are in demand.“

Martina Polndorfer presented an example of a strong female personality from a time when it was hardly possible for women to enter male-dominated professions.

The highlight was then the two tough employees from the company Electrovac, Sarah Munninger and Christin Lunzer, who reported on their exciting professional and apprenticeship experience in a field typically untypical for women. In particular, they encouraged the girls not to be deterred by skeptical remarks from their surroundings from undertaking such training. One is fully accepted and often even surpasses the performance of male colleagues.

Following the presentation of the „Lehre statt Leere“ (Apprenticeship instead of Emptiness) platform by vocational training coach Ursula Sova, there was a lively exchange of information and a breakfast provided by the Klosterneuburg Chamber of Commerce.

To conclude, a bus from the Klosterneuburg-based company Zuklin Bus took the girls to the companies they were visiting: Electrovac Metall-Glaseinschmelzungs GmbH, Lebensmittelversuchsanstalt, Lackierzentrum Klosterneuburg, and Zuklin Bus. These companies presented their operations from a practical standpoint, offering an intensive insight into daily professional life.
