While creating a logo alone won't achieve the goals of a mission statement, nor will it single-handedly implement a corporate identity, it is arguably the most visible expression.

Most companies, like cities, don't offer a single brand, meaning one characteristic, theme, or product, but rather many. A city brand ultimately aims for the same goal as any other brand: the most important areas or brand elements are represented as sub-brands and managed or consolidated under a master brand, so that the customer (citizen/visitor) feels well taken care of in the city, as they find all offerings, meaning all products/services of the city, presented in an appropriate manner.

Visualization

Roof and sub-brands strengthen the city's presence and image, helping it to better assert itself against other cities. A well-developed city brand, in the sense of city marketing and location management, provides the basis and framework for marketing concepts and urban development strategies to be developed.

Therefore, before visual brand development, the brand core must be established and the city's personality filtered. For this purpose, Klosterneuburg has decided to use professional process support.

As in many other cities, Klosterneuburg also had a hodgepodge of different logos and fonts for decades, which were used in the design of public print materials such as advertising brochures, price lists and invitations according to the personal taste and preferences of the author.

Protected Emblem of Sovereignty

Since the Klosterneuburg town coat of arms has been a protected emblem of sovereignty by law and jurisprudence, the use of which is exclusively reserved for the municipal administration, its use by other organizations or persons is only permitted with the approval of the municipal council in accordance with § 4 Para. 3 of the Lower Austrian Municipal Code.

In 2013, as part of the umbrella brand development process, the implementation of a new corporate design for the municipality of Klosterneuburg began. The new umbrella brand was intended to be derived from the existing city coat of arms, but not to be identical to its original form. It was also intended to be an approach for pluralistic formulations – even if it does not reflect the cityscape of every recipient – and to cover the essential brand elements in the associated sub-brands.

New Corporate Design

The new corporate design of the Klosterneuburg municipality doesn't just affect city-owned facilities, but is intended to be embraced by all citizens, as well as businesses, associations, sports providers, etc.! You could also say: Wherever Klosterneuburg is involved, Klosterneuburg should be represented!

The implementation of the corporate design requires constant self-monitoring, adjustments, solutions for new areas of application, and above all, the willingness to work together on a well-rounded, coherent, and high-quality appearance of the municipality of Klosterneuburg and its cadastral districts.

Our „Look“

We are happy to provide color and font information as well as logos in various versions and file formats. Numerous products in the „Klosterneuburg look,“ some of which are free of charge, are available in our shop!

What's in Klosterneuburg
