Special exhibition „Fascination of Paper Cutting“

The exhibition is open until Sunday, October 30, 2022, during opening hours: Friday 6 PM - 8 PM and Sunday 10 AM - 12 PM.

The exhibition features paper cuttings from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, and China.
The silhouette artist Josefine Allmayer (1904-1977), born in Kierling, created the illustrations for the calendar pages of all 10 Emperor Karl Memorial Calendars (1929-1938). She also worked for many other publications in the black-and-yellow scene. The connection between Allmayer and the House of Habsburg is documented through newspaper reports, correspondence, and diaries. Other calendars, such as the St. Michael Calendar, St. Gabriel Children's Calendar, and St. Francis Bell Calendar, also feature her silhouette art. Studies, sketches, drafts, original silhouettes, and printed works illustrate the journey from idea to finished piece.
