Leopold Fest Klosterneuburg
The traditional Leopoldi Festival takes place annually around November 15th – the anniversary of Leopold III's death – in Klosterneuburg. In honor of the saint, the entire town, located just outside Vienna, celebrates.
Saint Leopold is not only the founder of the Klosterneuburg Abbey, but since 1663 also Patron saint of Lower Austria and Vienna. Emperor Leopold I., who elevated him to patron saint of the land, coupled this with the wish that the saint's feast day should be celebrated with due dignity and appropriate splendor. Thus, the monastery and the town of Klosterneuburg jointly invite you to the Leopold celebrations.
Besides the Leopoldi Market with its approximately 30 Places of entertainment and approx. 80 market stalls On Rathausplatz, the highlights of the folk festival include counting visitors to High Mass in the collegiate church, wine tastings in the Babenbergerhalle, and of course, barrel sliding in the Binderstadl of the abbey. During the traditional pilgrimage, the skull relic of Saint Leopold is the center of attention.
With this diversity, the Leopold Festival is one of the largest festivals of its kind in Lower Austria
Klosterneuburg Abbey
In the stylish open-air setting of the baroque Imperial Courtyard of Klosterneuburg Abbey, around 10,000 spectators visit the unique opera festival each year.
Over the years, the annual productions have developed into a fixture of Austria's summer cultural landscape. Thanks to the natural acoustics of the abbey courtyard, all visitors enjoy the unique experience of listening to pure singing without amplification technology.

Medieval Festival
Like a journey through time, the Abbey transforms into a medieval festival grounds. The Abbey and the town of Klosterneuburg are hosting a weekend full of games, jesters, excitement, and experiences, supported by local schools and associations.
Klosterneuburg is preparing for exciting tours of the abbey and a diverse program with medieval music, performances, theater, a fire show, blacksmith demonstrations, crafts, and entertainment for the little ones!

From mid-November until Christmas, some squares in Klosterneuburg transform into magical Christmas markets.

Mythos Film Festival
Marvel at the selected film program at Freiluft during the warm summer months at the Mythos Film Festival. European films, blockbusters, and internationally acclaimed films will be shown in the historic ambiance of Rathausplatz. In addition to daily live music acts, the international gourmet mile will treat its visitors to the finest delicacies starting in the afternoon.
Shortynale Film Festival Klosterneuburg
Once a year, for the Shortynale, the red carpet is rolled out! In addition to numerous workshops, a virtual reality lounge, and laser tag, the latest short film gems from all over the world will be shown on the big screen. And afterwards, there will be plenty of celebrating at numerous after-parties and special events, including celebrity guests!
