The restaurant on the main square at Strandbad Klosterneuburg is celebrating its comeback in summer ’21 with a new concept. The newly founded Strandcafe21 takes advantage of its beautiful location on the banks of the Danube, just outside Klosterneuburg and north of Vienna, to offer its guests relaxing hours. The goal is to give visitors a break from their everyday lives and to remain in their minds even on days with bad or unpredictable weather – as a cozy retreat in a well-maintained, natural area that can be visited to find relaxation.
The core range of typical outdoor pool foods like Berner sausages, french fries, cevapi, and fried classics is complemented by an extensive salad menu. In addition, we emphasize the holiday feeling with Italian specialties such as tramezzini, panini, and a selection of crispy pizzas.
The drinks menu spans from iconic local classics like raspberry soda, Almdudler, and Schartner Bombe, to natural fruit juices in traditional varieties such as red and white grape, apple, and pear, as well as unusual combinations like apple-sour cherry, apple-pear, and apple-raspberry. In addition to these cool refreshments, the restaurant offers fruit drinks for our young guests and buttermilk mixes as sparkling alternatives.
For the sweet-toothed among us, there are homemade candy shots, painstakingly transformed from popular treats into sweet sauces over months of tinkering. The flavors available include Giotto, Raffaello, Nutella, white chocolate, After Eight, Ferrero Küsschen, and cheesecake, offering a rich variety. They can be enjoyed warm or cold, prepared with or without alcohol, and are an excellent accompaniment to classic ice cream flavors like vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate.
