But when can a work be categorized as abstract or non-representational? For example, can the works of Kazimir Malevich, who caused the „Big Bang of Abstraction“ with his „Black Square,“ be compared to the works of Arnold Schmidt or Michel Nedjar (both Art Brut artists)?
