Special Exhibition: „Legendary“ - Of Legends, Myths, and Other Mystical Tales in and around Klosterneuburg

With great joy and imagination, students from the Hermannstraße, Kierling, and Kritzendorf elementary schools, the Klosterneuburg General Special School, and the Kritzendorf Private Elementary School, along with some other stories, brought the legend of the sunken city of Höflein, the founding story of the Lourdes grotto in Maria Gugging, and the tale of the henpecked husband of Klosterneuburg to life in colorful pictures and as „Legends in a Shoebox.“.

Accompanying the special exhibition, the exhibition „From Children's Hands“ will be presented in the Magda Strebl Hall. This exhibition will primarily feature children's drawings that have never been shown before and were created in 2007/08 as part of the preparations for the permanent exhibition „Once Upon a Time...“ – The Making of the City of Klosterneuburg. At that time, the City Museum collaborated with the fourth-grade classes of VS Anton Brucker Gasse. However, only a small portion of the drawings could be used for the exhibition and catalog. Now, the remaining works will finally be presented to the public in an exhibition – which runs until the end of March 2026.
