The unmistakable silhouette of the Klosterneuburg Monastery spire is visible from afar and has undoubtedly always represented the center of the Augustinian Canons. Who knew that for many centuries, a community of women stood alongside the men here? An almost forgotten chapter of history that is being brought back to light.

Much knowledge about the Augustinian Canonesses of Klosterneuburg has been irrevocably lost to time. What has survived, however, testifies to their radiance, their success, and their work. The exhibition „We Sisters“ is dedicated to this. The history of this monastery, the women who lived there, their tasks, their daily lives, and their festivals are central themes. As the dust of history disappears, the forgotten nuns reclaim their place in history: as the Augustinian Canonesses of Klosterneuburg.
