Lecture „Research at the HBLA & BA for Viticulture & Fruit Growing“

from HR Director Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Reinhard Eder, BEd in the festival hall of the HBLBA for Viticulture and Fruit Growing
The Higher Federal Education and Research Institute for Viticulture and Fruit Growing and the Federal Office for Wine and Fruit Growing are the world's oldest educational institution and Austria's largest research institution in the fields of viticulture and fruit growing, with dedicated scientists who deal with future- and practice-oriented questions concerning viticulture, cellar management, oenology, breeding, fruit growing, fruit and vegetable processing, chemistry, biology, process engineering, as well as economics and ecology.
Among the many achievements of the institution are a sulfur-free wine, the first sparkling wines from Austrian grape varieties, the first dealcoholized wine, quality brandies from Austrian grapes, new technologies in red wine production, and the development of the Klosterneuburg Must Weight scale. In the field of vine breeding, several grape varieties have been developed, and others have been significantly improved through selection.
The findings of the Klosterneuburg researchers can be utilized in the wine and fruit sectors, as well as related fields, and contribute to the sustainable development of the country and society.
Following the lecture, there will be a wine tasting.
